This release of grappa from this revered Sicilian winemaker is a celebration of the island's indigenous Frappato grape variety. A refined spirit that elegantly elevates the touchstone traits of flowers and fruit with notes that include quince, white peony, honeysuckle and raspberry.

The Grappa di Frappato is terrific. Beautifully perfumed and deep, this is sensual and yet quite powerful. There is an inner core of sweetness and fruit that lends sensuality. Given the lighter style of Frappato as a red wine I expected a gentler grappa, but there is real depth and intensity here.
