This is a captivating and salivatingly delicious bright and crisp 100% Chardonnay wine. This wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks with no malo-lactic fermentation, resulting in a dry wine with flavors and aromas of minerals, apples, pears, citrus fruit and lemon curd. This fresh, unoaked wine is medium-bodied with balanced acidity and moderate alcohol. The wine is wonderfully juicy with the textural interplay of both linearity and roundness that provides great pleasure and interest. There is a plump creaminess (especially this vintage), that is unmistakably Chardonnay.
Comfortable with either complementary or contrasting flavors, try this wine with crisp, briny shellfish or oily bluefish and wild salmon; fresh cheeses, a citrus roast chicken or a fresh salad with duck confit.
As always, the fruit for this wine was hand-picked, whole cluster-pressed, handled minimally and bottled by gravity. The Chardonnay (from the classic Dijon clones) was harvested from all our Chardonnay vineyards on the South Fork.
