The wine appears a green-golden color, aromas intense, bright and open. This has concentrated fruitiness, richness with elegance and refreshingly fine length.

This comes from south-facing, 12-year-old vines, which have been organically farmed by the domaine, since 2020. The importance of old vines is much less significant for Chardonnay than for Pinot Noir, and a youthful white Burgundy vineyard – as is the case here – can often produce wines of striking vivacity and fruit intensity. One third of the volume has been vinified and aged in a large, oval tun, the balance in 228- and 400-litre barrels, of which just one was new. 

A toasty and expressive nose also reflects plenty of petrol character on the equally exotic nose of white peach, passion fruit and melon. There is fine volume and excellent richness, indeed the medium-bodied flavors are quite generously proportioned, while displaying very good length on the balanced and agreeably dry finale. This could use better depth so 2 to 3 years of cellaring should help. Drink: 2026+
