Lunaria Description
Bright ruby red color, in the nose plums, carobs, cherries. The palate is warm, fairly tannic, intense, with a red fruit jam finish. Pairs well with salami dishes, pasta dishes with tomato sauce, meats.
'Ruminat' translated from Latin means "Chews", and this wine packs a lot in mouthfeel and on the palate - as primitivo should. Also derived from Ruminant, the family comprised of cattle, sheep, giraffe, and the gorgeous deer on the bottle, there is a silent austerity to this wine. Cantina Orsogna has managed to cultivate the true elements of this varietal, a mainstay on the dinner table, whilst staying true to the beauty of its terroir.
Cantina Orsogna, created in 1964, is a cooperative company of 450 partners. It is the largest producer of organic and biodynamic wines in the south centre of Italy. It has more than 1.100 hectares of vines, 80% is certified organic, and 30% is certified biodynamic by Demeter. Cantina Orsogna has been certified biodynamic since 2005 and has been organic producers for more than 30 years.
