Aromas of blackberry and raspberry compote, vanilla bean, boysenberry kirsch and tobacco leaf all give way to a well-balanced and concentrated Zinfandel for the 2022 vintage. Deep and brilliant color with garnet edges in the glass, the tannins are well polished and sweet yet provide a long, lingering finish that is already hard-to-resist.

Our Zinfandel comes entirely from our estate property located at 2,200 feet in elevation. Outpost grapes are harvested late in the season - by hand, at dawn - to preserve the full intensity and distinctive spicy character of the mountain fruit. Wines are neither fined or filtered allowing for the full expression of the vintages' potential.

100% Wente Clone of Zinfandel aged for 13 months in 30% new French oak barrels.

Matured in only about one-third new French oak, Outpost's 2022 Zinfandel doesn't really show much wood on the nose, which is all ripe cherries, berries and stone fruit, with only modest briary notions. In the mouth, the wine is full-bodied and supple, with a long, mouthwatering finish tinged with mocha. Anticipated Maturity: 2025-2033
