Aromas of lemon curd leap from the glass, followed by gunflint, freshly cut herbs, and orange oil. On the palate, tropical flavors of mango and fresh lemon evolve into crisp pear and apple, with lingering notes of white flowers on the finish. The mid-palate is broad, expanding to fill the mouth, while a clean line of acidity carries through to a bright finish.
100% Chardonnay. A blend of Dijon clones from vineyards across the Willamette Valley, this wine best represents what cool-climate Chardonnay can do.
This wine was fermented and aged in 82% stainless steel, 9% concrete, and 9% neutral oak. The lees were stirred twice monthly until the palate filled out and harmonized.
A not-quite-ripe pineapple aroma is accompanied by notes of chalkboard dust and chamomile. The wine’s tart peach and sweet grilled pineapple flavors meld with a touch of saline and brisk acidity. Prepare to embrace the pucker with this excellent value. -M.A.
Bottled under screw cap, the 2023 Chardonnay comes from sites across the Willamette Valley. It was fermented mainly in stainless steel, with smaller portions in concrete and used oak. It has fresh aromas of Bosc pears, green apples and citrus blossoms. The light-bodied palate offers concentrated, floral flavors. A touch of textural grip is balanced by mouthwatering acidity, and it has a flavorful finish. 9,000 cases produced. Anticipated Maturity: 2025-2028
